How to Utilize Locally to Highlight New Product Launches

Many of our brand partners want to use Locally to highlight upcoming or newly-launched products, and for good reason: data shows that new products are especially sought after Locally by shoppers. Here are some of the models those clients have used to highlight when new products are available at nearby retailers:

Identify and Prioritize With Category Tags and Biasing

Many of our brands apply a category tag to specify the stores that are carrying a specific new product or product line. Once tagged, they can then bias specific stores where shoppers will find the specific product in-stock to the top of results on the Store Locator. Learn about category tagging and biasing here.

Brooks Running uses category tags, biasing, and banners to feature a new collaboration.

➁ Highlight Stores with Banners

Banners are also a great way to spotlight specific categories on a brand site. You have the ability to choose the text and color and add an SVG icon. This feature is fully customizable and the perfect way to call out new product launches and recent collections that specific retailers carry. Learn more here.

➂ Dedicated Maps With a Pre-Filtered Store Locator

Launch a separate, customized, pre-filtered Store Locator that features only those stores that are carrying the new product or product line. Once you’ve applied category tags to those stores, it’s easy to launch a pre-filtered Store Locator onto a dedicated page by either our quick URL method or installing a simple modified embed code. Here’s how.

➃ Call Out Stores with Custom Map Pins

In addition, adding visuals to the map can help point out new product launches as well. Customized map pins populate directly on the map. They are uniquely-branded and many of our clients call out new products through your map pins.

Custom map pins can show customers where a newly-launched product is available.

➄ Drive Sell-Through With the Product Locator

One of the primary tools Locally offers for brands is the Product Locator. If you’re not already using the Product Locator on every product page of your site, consider using it on new products. Shoppers who want to check it out in person will feel more certain that when they get in their car, it’ll be there when they arrive. Learn more about optimizing this tool.

Most runners prefer to try out new running shoes in person. HOKA uses Locally’s Product Locator to ensure runners know where to go to try on and buy their newest releases.

➅ Highlight Products on Locally Landing Pages

Locally Landing Pages are another key feature that brands can use to highlight stores that carry those new products. These pages are a fully hosted subdomain living on your brand's site. That means clicks for ads or searches land super close to your brand and those shoppers can stay fully immersed in the brand all the way through a local transaction.

Brooks Running uses Locally Landing Pages to highlight new product lines in-stock at premier dealers

➆ Track inventory with Stock Sharing Reports

Locally’s Stock Sharing reporting tool gives your brand access to daily inventory levels at participating stores. Use Stock Sharing to track the performance of new products in real-time, from when they land in stores to when they are scooped up by shoppers.

To ensure all of your latest products are being displayed on Locally’s tools, provide our content team with all of your new product UPCs. This will allow your brand to drive sales for your latest products the minute they are launched and in stores!
