Salesforce data shows that nearly one out of every five online orders placed globally this holiday season has been via buy online and pick up in-store (BOPIS)

Salesforce, the leading customer relationship management (CRM) platform, reported a significant increase in online sales - particularly BOPIS sales - during the month of December. According to the company, online sales ticked up by over 20% compared to the same period in the previous year. The increase was attributed to a surge in e-commerce activity as consumers resorted to online shopping due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The rise in online sales highlights the importance of having a strong digital presence for businesses, especially in the current scenario where brick-and-mortar stores are facing challenges. This trend is likely to continue in the coming months, making it crucial for companies to invest in their online presence and customer engagement strategies.
